Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injection is a medical treatment used in orthopedics to promote healing and alleviate symptoms in various musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. PRP is derived from the patient's own blood and contains a concentrated form of platelets, growth factors, and other bioactive proteins that play a crucial role in the body's natural healing process. A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient’s arm, and is centrifuged in the office, which separates the platelets. These are then injected in the area of injury.
