PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injection is a medical treatment used in orthopedics to promote healing and alleviate symptoms in various musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. PRP is derived from the patient's own blood and contains a concentrated form of platelets, growth factors, and other bioactive proteins that play a crucial role in the body's natural healing process. A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient’s arm, and is centrifuged in the office, which separates the platelets. These are then injected in the area of injury. Common orthopedic conditions treated with PRP include osteoarthritis, tendon injuries, ligament injures, and overuse injuries.
